Privacy policy
Last updated: [date of publication]
This policy explains what personal information is handled when you use the PreclinIQ software and this website. PreclinIQ is created and sold by Dr. Ambuj Shahi (“we”, “us”), [address], India. Contact: admin@precliniq.com.
1. The PreclinIQ software
PreclinIQ works offline on your computer. The study data you enter (for example animal records, assay results and pseudonymised participant data) are stored only in files on your computer that you choose, and in local backups. We do not receive, collect or have access to your study data. The software contains no usage tracking or analytics.
When you choose to check for updates, the program requests a small version file from our website; this request is not linked to your identity.
1a. The PreclinIQ Mobile phone app
The phone app stores the study details sent to it (animal IDs, cages, recent weights and dosing plans) and the entries you make only on that phone. Nothing is sent to us. Entries reach your computer only when you share the file yourself, through an app you choose (for example WhatsApp, email or Google Drive); that app's own privacy terms apply to the transfer. The file is encrypted so that only the matching study can open it. The app uses the camera only while you are scanning a code, and stores no images.
2. Licence requests and purchases
To issue a licence key we need your name, email address, institution (optional) and the Machine ID shown by the program. The Machine ID is a code derived from your computer that does not reveal personal information. We use these details only to issue, renew and support your licence, and to keep a record of licences issued.
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your card or bank details; the provider's own privacy policy applies to the payment.
3. This website
This website uses essential sign-in cookies and a randomly generated browser device ID for authenticated downloads. Your name, verified email, self-declared country, optional institution, sign-in and download activity, Machine IDs you provide, and payment and licence records are stored in our account database. OTP codes expire after ten minutes and are stored as hashes; session tokens are stored as hashes. We do not collect your computer hardware ID from the browser. The contact form opens your own email program; we receive only what you choose to send.
4. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers needed to sell and deliver licences (Neon, which stores account, download, payment and licence records; Razorpay, which processes payments; Resend, which sends sign-in codes and licence emails; and Google, if you choose Google sign-in), or where required by law.
5. Retention
We keep licence and purchase records for as long as needed for licensing, support and legal, tax and accounting obligations, normally [e.g. 8 years], and then delete them.
6. Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing us. We aim to handle personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are outside India, you may have additional rights under your local law.
7. Children
PreclinIQ is intended for researchers and is not directed at children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
